My students and I are in total love with Google Classroom and Google Docs. Since I have always been a big fan of rubrics and have used them a great deal in my classroom, I'm going to share a few of my favorite rubric add-ons for Google Docs. These rubrics are real time savers!!
1. Doctopus + Goobric
I've written an entire post on this one so I'm just going to refer you back to that post. NOTE: These add-ons for Google Sheets.
2. Orange Slice
This is a new one to me and I'm still playing around with it but so far I really like it. This add-on for Google Docs allows you to start by creating the rubric with pre-made selections or you can customize it the way you want. Once you have the rubric the way you want it, you click the "Score" button to select how you want to grade it-by points or some other method. Depending on which method you choose, it will take you through some set up. Lastly you decide how you want to distribute the rubric either using Doctopus or through Google Classroom. Watch the video below for more detailed instructions.
This is another add-on for Google Sheets that allows you to create a rubric for online grading. Once you have added this to Google Sheets you simply open up a blank spreadsheet and click on the Addons Tab and find Online Rubric. It will take you through some set up steps. The first step is to either build or import a class roster. Then you can create a new rubric or import one from Google Drive that is already made. Your rubric is ready to use and can emailed to students! See the video below for more detailed instructions.
