If you need a more interactive way to deliver a presentation to your students then Nearpod is your answer. Nearpod is an Apple and Android app, but also works on PC and Mac. What exactly does Nearpod do? It allows you to upload a powerpoint presentation that has been saved as a PDF. Then you can add interactive slides such as a poll, quiz, video clip, or web link, between your powerpoint slides. You can then quickly see the results of your polls, quizzes, etc. In essence you take over control of the student's device while they are within the Nearpod app. One of the best ways to use this app is as a formative assessment for your lecture. To create your Nearpod presentations, create a powerpoint, keynote, or Google presentation first. Then save it as a PDF. Go to Nearpod and login to your account and upload the presentation. Then using the Nearpod toolbar add in the interactive elements that you want. Then students login to the app with their name and a pin# that is created when you launch the presentation. See the video below for an overview of this wonderful app!
